Looking to renew, upgrade, park, cancel, transfer, or reinstate your licence. You’ll find everything you need to know here.

Learn about the real estate sectors, and how you can add, remove, and retain licences in these areas.

Moving your Licence to Alberta

Licensees from some other provinces and US states can apply to become licensed in Alberta without the need for pre-licensing education.

Parking your Licence

Licensees who are temporarily leaving the industry can cancel their licence and reinstate within the next three years; sometimes called 'parking' their licence

Renewing your Licence

All licensees must renew their licence by September 30 of each year. There may also be mandatory re-licensing education for certain industries or sectors in certain years.

Transferring Between Brokerages

Licensees can transfer between brokerages

Upgrading to Broker or Associate Broker

In order to become and associate broker (in real estate only) or a broker, licensees must first become eligible.
