RECA’s Board of Directors has set June 1, 2022 as the education divestment date—six months before the legislatively required divestment date of December 1, 2022. RECA will not enrol individuals in courses after May 30, 2022 for any courses also offered by a third-party course provider.

RECA’s industry Councils have approved all competency profiles for all of RECA’s licence types.

The Condominium Manager Associate and Condominium Manager Broker competency profiles were approved on June 4, 2021.

Fundamentals and Practice course model in real estate

RECA’s pre-licensing real estate education is divided into Fundamentals courses and Practice courses. Fundamentals will have content applicable to all real estate licence types, Practice courses will have the learning-specific to a particular sector. So, people who take Residential real estate, for example, won’t need to retake the fundamentals course if they also want to also take Commercial. To facilitate this RECA will provide a breakdown of the competencies that are to be included in the Fundamental courses s and which are part of the Practice courses.

Exam Course Blueprints

The competency weightings for individual courses will be provided along with the Practice and Fundamentals content once it has been finalized. RECA anticipates this information will available later this month.
