Team Work: Dividing the Task, Multiplying the Success

“Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” – Vince Lombardi

Progress is a process. Whether it’s a team, a company, or an organization, such as the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA), individuals that are part of a larger group can only progress when they work as one cohesive unit. With this in mind, all RECA employees participated in a staff development/team-building day last week. RECA employees from all departments came together as a group to discuss strategies to improve the ways in which they provide services to industry professionals, consumers and other stakeholders.

Participants took part in breakout sessions that focused on how employees in each RECA department contribute to the organization’s strategic plan, and participants identified the ways in which employees can work across the organization to improve the service RECA provides. A more consistent, cohesive RECA is better able to serve the industry and consumers.

To be successful, all employees need to feel as if they are working towards a common goal; a goal in which they genuinely believe. Staff development days are a means through which everyone can discuss that goal and identify the ways to work towards it.

Does your brokerage, your association or your company ever have staff development/team-building activities?
