2025 Residential Real Estate Broker Industry Council By-Election

Following a recent resignation from the Residential Real Estate Broker Industry Council, RECA opened a by-election to fill the vacant position for the remainder of its term, ending November 30, 2025. The Election Officer (MNP) has confirmed that no candidates came forward for the 2025 Residential Real Estate Broker Industry Council By-Election.

RECA is actively working with Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction to determine next steps in accordance with the Real Estate Act and our governance process. We will communicate any updates once they become available.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to share that RECA’s general election for Industry Councils will launch this August 2025. Successful candidates will be elected for a three-year term commencing December 1, 2025. This will be a vital opportunity for licensees across all sectors to help shape the future of self-regulation in Alberta.

The election will include positions on the following Industry Councils:

• Residential Real Estate Broker Industry Council
• Commercial Real Estate Broker and Commercial Property Manager Industry Council (includes rural/agri-business)
• Residential Property Manager Industry Council (includes condominium management)
• Mortgage Broker Industry Council
