RECA Welcomes Cynthia P. Moore as Board Chair

Appointment brings decades of experience in governance, non-profit innovation and community service to guide RECA’s next chapter.

(November 14, 2025) CALGARY, ALBERTA: The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cynthia P. Moore as its new Board Chair, effective December 1, 2025, for a three-year term.

Cynthia is a proven leader with deep experience in governance, organizational renewal, and strategic transformation. As President of the United Conservative Party of Alberta (UCP), she guided the organization through a period of significant transition that culminated in renewed leadership and a successful re-election in 2023.

Her career spans management consulting, major non-profit development, and executive leadership across Alberta’s public, non-profit, and arts sectors including Chair of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. She has extensive board and community service experience with organizations across the province.

“I’m honoured to serve as RECA’s Chair and to work with so many dedicated professionals focused on protecting consumers and elevating the industry’s reputation and standards,” said Cynthia P. Moore, incoming Chair. “Strong governance and transparent regulation are essential to maintaining public trust and ensuring Alberta’s real estate industry continues to thrive.”

As Ms. MacDonald completes her term as Chair, RECA acknowledges her meaningful contributions and leadership through a pivotal period of renewal and progress. Her dedicated service, insight, and steady leadership advanced key reforms, strengthened collaboration across industry sectors, and enhanced the governance framework that continues to serve Alberta’s consumers and licensees today.
