Industry Alert: Daniel Stante Associate Broker Licence Suspended for 12 months
| November 06, 2025
To protect consumers and uphold the professional standards and integrity of the industry, Alberta’s real estate regulator, the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA), is advising the public that Daniel Patrick Stante’s Associate Broker licence has been suspended for a period of 12 months.
On October 3, 2025, under section 43(1) of the Real Estate Act, an independent Hearing Panel ordered the immediate 12-month suspension of Daniel Stante’s real estate Associate Broker licence. During this period, he is eligible to be licensed as a real estate Associate. Stante was also ordered to pay $4,000 in fines.
The Hearing Panel found, and Daniel Stante admitted, that he engaged in conduct deserving of sanction by failing to notify the Registrar when he became aware of fraudulent conduct by one of his associates, which is against s.51(3)(g) of the Real Estate Act Rules. Stante had knowledge of the fraud since June 2022 and did not report it.
The Panel emphasized that licensees have a duty to report misconduct to protect consumers and maintain trust in the profession. A profession’s most valuable asset is its collective reputation and the confidence it inspires. Licensees must understand how important it is to follow the Real Estate Act and its Rules and act honestly to maintain the public’s confidence in the integrity of the real estate profession.
At the time of misconduct, Stante was licensed as the Real Estate Broker for Real Broker AB Ltd. o/a Real Broker. Subsequently, Stante was licensed as the Associate Broker for Real Broker from January 2023 until October 3, when the panel suspended his Associate Broker licence for 12 months. Stante is currently licensed as an Associate with Real Broker AB Ltd. o/a Real Broker and is authorized to trade in real estate. During the suspension, he cannot supervise the work of others, act as a broker delegate or any other duties which require an Associate Broker licence.
