RECA’s 2026 renewal season reflected steady growth across Alberta’s regulated real estate sectors. As of October 8, 2026, RECA regulates 21,608 licensees, an increase of 240 licensees over last year. Growth was driven primarily by the mortgage sector, while real estate licence numbers saw a modest decline.
Between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, 2,425 new licensees joined the industry. During the 2026 renewal period 1,166 licensees did not renew. Throughout the renewal period, the Registration Services team responded to more than 1,600 inquiries from industry members, providing support and guidance while gathering valuable feedback to help inform future improvements to the renewal process.
Overall, the figures point to ongoing interest in Alberta’s real estate sectors and a steady stream of new professionals entering the industry.
