RECA has received the Deloitte report commissioned by the Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction and welcomes the review and its valuable findings.
The report recognizes several areas where RECA is operating effectively, including sustained delivery of core regulatory functions through significant industry and governance change, a clear focus on consumer protection, and the use of modern regulatory approaches such as risk-based complaint handling and alternative resolution processes.
The report also identifies opportunities to further strengthen RECA’s effectiveness. RECA is committed to continuous improvement. We will be working with the Government of Alberta to assess the recommendations and determine next steps, including any changes that further enhance consumer protection and support a strong, trusted real estate sector.
Over the past five years RECA has undergone significant changes, and this report builds on our ongoing work to strengthen Alberta’s real estate regulatory framework.
RECA remains focused on its mandate to protect consumers and maintain confidence in Alberta’s real estate sector.
